Week 7? I lose track. This week I worked with the library thing. I catalogued a few of my math books. This will be handy come inventory time. I tryed to put a widget for the library catalogue on my blog but was unsuccessful. I will keep trying and get help.

The first thing I want to do is to complain about the tutorial for Facebook. It had an advertisement that covered part of the instructions on the page. I do not have an overriding acne problem so I did not need to deal with that pop-up. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? We do not encourage social networking at our school as a matter of fact we discourage it. We will be embarking on a quest to decide appropriate use for social networking pages in the upcoming months. I am interested in input in this endeavor.

I wrote this blog once but something happened and it disappeared. I don’t know why. There may be two postings for week4. So the RSS thing is neat. I wonder if my son uses one of these as he reads multiple blogs and other sites every day. I am really enjoying learning about all these 23 things. Most I have not heard of before. I don’t know if I would use the RSS much but I can see how it would be useful. If anyone has a great educational use let me know. So once we get through all 23 things, will there be 23 new things that have developed in the mean time? I hope there will be an update of new things at some point.
There is so much to all this I am hoping that I will have more time to explore these “things” in more depth

I looked through flickr and thought of a million uses for this site. I am always looking for pictures of geometric plants, buildings, etc. to demonstrate symetry and other geometric principals. I liked the fact that you can make things like snapfish and other sites I have used.

I have been racking my brain trying to think of what I could use blogs for in my mathematics classroom. Right now I cannot come up with any meaningful ideas. If anyone out there has a real educational idea for using a blog in mathematics let me know. I can see a lot of uses for blogs in an education setting particularly for communicating with other teachers in your building. We are often tied to our rooms and don’t get to share as often as we like. A blog would give an opportunity to communicate from home when you have some time.

Participant Blogs « Vermont’s 23 Things
Week 1, activity one, I read what the 23 things are and am not really clear about I am doing but hopefully I will figure it out.
Activity two- lifelong learner. Hooray I have most of the qualities of a lifelong learner. Hopefully I will figure out what I am learning here. I was invited to particpate by my librarian so I am new to the idea of 23 things.
